ABCM Homes awarded for a special commitment to excellence.

A total of nine ABCM homes have now received the Governor’s Quality Care Award since it was first established in 2001. The award is presented by the Department of Inspections & Appeals (DIA) to long-term care providers who demonstrate the highest provision of care to their residents. Iowa-licensed, long-term care providers are nominated by Iowans – residents, family members, or members of a facility’s resident advocate committee – to receive the award. Each nominated provider is evaluated and scored based on predetermined criteria such as unique programming and services, replicability of programs and services, resources dedicated to providing quality care, residents’ quality of life, and compliance history.
