The nominees for the 2007 Governor's Quality Care Award have been notified of their nomination status, and final visits have been scheduled for the week of April 17th.

The ABCM nursing facilities nominated for the prestigious award this year are:

  • Valley Vue Care Center, Armstrong, IA
  • Westview Care Center, Britt, IA

The Governor's Quality Care Award was created by Governor Tom Vilsack in 2001 to recognize health care facilities which demonstrate provision of the highest quality care to residents.

Since the inception of the program, 28 Iowa long-term care facilities have been named recipients of a Governor’s Award.

ABCM Quality Care Award winners:

  • 2001 Award Winner Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake
  • 2002 Award Winner Oelwein Health Care Center, Oelwein
  • 2003 Award Winner Westview Care Center, Britt
  • 2004 Award Winner Manor House Care Center, Sigourney
