We're more than a great view
Guttenberg Care Center sits high on a hill with a breathtaking view of the mighty Mississippi. This serene view emulates the peace and comfort you will find in our unique and home-like community. We are truly a family here. Our commitment to individual choice directs our care, and allows us to build lasting bonds within our community. |
The Guttenberg Care Center has embraced the practice of Person Directed Care to enrich the lives of the people who live and work here. We treat each individual with dignity and respect. The resident is no longer a "diagnosis," but a person who comes to the care center with an individual lifestyle. Guttenberg Care Center is in its third year of Person Directed Care - currently slated to be the first Person Directed Care certified home in Iowa.
As part of our Person Directed Care initiative, we have committed to Consistent Staffing at our care center. This is defined as the same caregivers regularly caring for the same resident every time they are on duty. Research has proven many benefits of Consistent Staffing for residents and staff both. Caregivers are better able to anticipate resident needs and establish close relationships.
