Emmetsburg Care Center features a Person Directed Care philosophy that offers residents more choices in their day-to-day living, such as when they get up, eat, bathe, go to bed and attend activities. Food choices via menus are offered and we will gladly prepare residents' favorite dishes. Our home has two distinct neighborhoods: Maple Estates and Friendship Lane. These neighborhoods offer consistent staffing to ensure residents feel safe and more secure as they receive care from the same caregivers at least 85% of the time. This allows residents and their caregivers to develop very important and meaningful relationships.
Emmetsburg Care Center's administrator holds a Resident Advisory Board meeting with residents once a month to maintain face-to-face communication with the residents and encourages all to express their feelings about living at the Emmetsburg Care Center. During this meeting, all departments are reviewed to ensure that the residents are being treated with dignity and respect. Residents are encouraged to share ideas they have to further enhance their living environment.
Not only do we want our residents to live in a clean, safe updated environment, we want the same for our employees' work environment. Employees have the opportunity to serve on various committees, cross train in other departments, advance in their positions and are recognized for their dedication to Emmetsburg Care Center through a variety of awards as well as bonuses in areas such as safety.

What's New
Our north whirlpool room was remodeled using tile flooring and a new whirlpool. We have new carpeting in our hallways, family rooms, and office areas. Our other new and exciting renovation was a new snack room, called "The Snack Shack". This room has soft serve ice cream, coffee, juice and fruit available at all times. The residents, family, and friends also enjoy the popcorn machine in our family room . The Activity Department purchased a snow cone machine which is sure to please on a warm summer day!
A local Boy Scout, earning his Eagle Scout badge, made flower boxes for the resident windows. The residents love to look out their window to see the beautiful flowers.
