Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia. Alzheimer's causes memory loss and problems with cognitive processing and behavior, affecting daily living. It is a degenerative condition with no cure. However medication, environment, and professional care may ease the cognitive symptoms of Alzheimer's. |
While all ABCM care centers provide service to individuals with varying degrees of Dementia and confusion due to age-related cognitive abilities, we also have licensed Chronic Confusion and Dementing Illness Units (CCDI) located throughout the state in Britt, Hampton and Oelwein, Iowa. Experts in working with cognitive, behavioral, communication and environmental challenges, our staff provides residents opportunities for social and emotional connection with loved ones through coordinated activities, support groups and respite care.
ABCM Alzheimer's Care units provide the following services to accommodate the special needs of individuals with Alzheimer's:

Providing daily care to individuals with Alzheimer's or Dementia can be a demanding job. ABCM provides short-term care through our Adult Day Services and Family Respite Care to run errands, maintain employment, or to allow caregivers an opportunity to just get away for while. When later stages of Alzheimer's require 24-hour care, our homes can provide professional care through ongoing assessment and individualized treatment plans. |
